UNT offers students a Master of Science* or a Master of Education* in Applied Technology & Performance Improvement.

The Master of Science degree with a major in Applied Technology & Performance Improvement is designed for those professionals who are seeking careers in the field of training and development. This 36 semester hour program consists of coursework in advanced computer technology, needs analysis and training analysis, introduction to training and development, facilitation skills, research, diversity, curriculum theory, and program evaluation. The balance of the degree is completed with the elective coursework taken in consultation with the advisor.

The Master of Education degree with a major in Applied Technology & Performance Improvement is a 36 semester hour program designed for people who are seeking careers in the education field. Like the masters of science, this program requires coursework in advanced computer technology, basic instructional strategies, history and principles of applied technology, cooperative education, research, diversity, and curriculum theory. The Master of Education has a six (6) hour minor field outside the major. This is the recommended degree for those seeking certification in Trade and Industry Education or Marketing Education.

A student may enroll for one semester without an approved GRE score. GRE scores are based on a national mean score. Student must obtain the minimum GRE score before being admitted to the ATPI program.

*NOTE: Student may be required to complete leveling courses in addition to listed courses.
