A limited number of graduate assistantships are awarded each academic year to students in the Dept. of Learning Technologies masters and doctoral programs only. Graduate-level students may apply for and be placed with faculty in teaching or research positions. The selection process is very competitive and students should meet the following conditions:

  • Academic Merit and Full-time Enrollment
  • Good academic standing in all courses and good progress toward a degree
  • Responsibility and reliability based on previous evaluation in case of reappointment as assessed by supervising faculty or staff
  • Collegiality and ability to take and follow directions and work constructively as a team member
  • Live within Texas (remote work is not available for students living in states outside of Texas)

The graduate assistantship term of employment is for both the Fall and Spring semesters. A limited number of positions may be available for Summer terms. Assistantships are salaried and require either 10 or 20 hours a week, depending on FTE assignment. Positions are available online, but some assistantships may require students to be onsite at Discovery Park between the hours of  8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. For more information on assistantship resources and benefits, visit the Toulouse Graduate School website. For prospective TAs/TFs/RAs applicants whose primary language isn’t English, please particularly read the section “Language Support” closely.

Interested students must complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship form (currently closed) and submit it to LT-Office@unt.edu by the department's deadline for consideration. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year are due May 15th, 2025. Positions are open until filled. Positions for the 24-25 academic years have been filled.
