Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of graduate assistantships are awarded each academic year to students in the Dept. of Learning Technologies masters and doctoral programs only. Graduate-level students may apply for and be placed with faculty in teaching or research positions. The selection process is very competitive and students should meet the following conditions:

  • Academic Merit and Full-time Enrollment
  • Good academic standing in all courses and good progress toward a degree
  • Responsibility and reliability based on previous evaluation in case of reappointment as assessed by supervising faculty or staff
  • Collegiality and ability to take and follow directions and work constructively as a team member

The graduate assistantship term of employment is for both the Fall and Spring semesters. A limited number of positions may be available for Summer terms. Assistantships are salaried and require an average of 20 hours a week. Positions are available online, but some assistantships may require students to be onsite at Discovery Park between the hours of  8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Interested students must complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship form and submit it to LT-PHD@unt.edu by the department's deadline for consideration. Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are due May 15th, 2024. Positions are open until filled. Positions for the 23-24 academic years have been filled.
